Engagement Ring Diamond - Size vs Quality?

I am buying an engagement ring for my girlfriend and am having a really hard time deciding what level to go for. The diamonds I am looking at are Round cut, H color, VS2 clarity. My problem now is that in order to stay within my price range, I basically need to choose between these two stones:
1.25ct, H VS2 IDEAL CUT, Hearts and Arrows
OR
1.53ct, H VS2 Very good cut (the table range is high at 67%)

Both are the same price and are at my budget... I cant really tell the difference but I am not very good at these things, so do I go for the bigger lower cut diamond, or the smaller perfect cut diamond?

HELP!

Go for the Idea cut Hearts and Arrows. Make sure you get one of the H&A viewers so that you can show her later how fantastic the symmetry of the diamond is.

As for the larger diamond, the Table is wayyyyy to high. It shouldn't exceed 60% for a round cut brilliant.
