Gentian Violet: A Concerning Cure for Thrush

Numerous studies have found that gentian violet has the potential to cause cancer in those who use it. These studies indicate that this deep dye had adverse health effects on laboratory animals. What color goes good with purple?

I'm trying to think of a color scheme for my bathroom in my new apartment. I was thinking purple and white, but the white seems kinda dull... Any other ideas? Thanks!!

By the way, the purple I want is a deep violet purple.
